Dear New York Times, we forgive you for the The Great Grape Salad Scandal of 2014 and for the Dating Debacle of 2013. And that time you threw shade at Minnesota's beloved honeycrisp apple? We think we're ready to move past that, too.

A reporter for the Grey Lady visited Minneapolis recently for its "36 Hours" travel feature. Jennifer Conlin began her "36 Hours in Minneapolis" article with this description of the city west of the Mississippi River: "Urban edginess, cultural authenticity, not to mention spiced meatballs in lingonberry sauce: the perfect formula for a weekend away."

The New York Times gave shout-outs to many local favorites, including the Bachelor Farmer, First Avenue, shopping in the North Loop and Minnehaha Falls. Aside from snubbing the town's ample breweries and leaving out St. Paul entirely, most Minneapolitans seemed pleased with the coverage.
Here's a roundup of reactions from Twitter.
