A female was in critical condition Saturday after authorities found her with a gunshot wound to her upper torso at a residence in Rice County.

Two male victims were also found with gunshot wounds to their lower extremities in a vehicle stopped outside the residence in the 4000 block of Elmore Avenue in Webster Township. The female and one male victim were airlifted to trauma centers and another was taken by ambulance.

A report of shots fired came in to authorities at 2:58 a.m. Initial information from the scene indicated there had been a party involving young adults with an altercation leading to the firing of multiple gunshots.

None of the victims was from the immediate area, according to the Rice County Sheriff's Office. Deputies from Rice, Scott and Dakota counties responded to the area along with police officers from Lonsdale, Northfield, New Prague and Faribault. Authorities described a large area with a lot of evidence to collect and investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 507-334-4391.
