IF YOU GO

There are far fewer flights to Ibiza during the offseason, but daily flights from Madrid and Barcelona continue on low-cost Spanish airline Vueling (vueling.com) and Iberia (iberia.com). Ferry service is offered from Barcelona and Valencia.

The island easily demands a week of exploration — a couple of days for Ibiza City's historic charms (including Dalt Vila, the upper Old Town), plus a day or two to explore the dramatic, rocky northern coast, the beaches of the west coast and the small towns and quality restaurants throughout the island. Plus, there is an abundance of hiking, diving, kayaking and snorkeling.
