Conservative commentator and author Jason Lewis announced that he's running for Congress to replace Rep. John Kline, who is not running again. Lewis joins several candidates running in the Second Congressional District, which includes the suburbs south and east of St. Paul.

Star Tribune blogger Michael Brodkorb reported last week that Lewis filed necessary paperwork for the run.

Lewis left his KTLK (1130 AM) radio show last year to focus on his libertarian website, Galt.io, which named after the libertarian hero of the Ayn Rand novel, "Atlas Shrugged."

Pam Myhra, who served two-terms in the Minnesota House announced her candidacy as a Republican last week.

Angie Craig and Mary Lawrence are two DFL candidates thus far.
