YouTube ditches the '301+' view count

YouTube learns to count

You've probably experienced this before: After hearing about a YouTube video that's just gone viral, you go to the site to watch it. But the view count says "301+" — which doesn't seem very viral. Explanation: This strange number was an indication that the video had a much larger view count, but YouTube needed time to log the number correctly. Recently, YouTube nixed that placeholder view count and has begun listing the real number in real time. Confusion solved!
