Southern burning

"Klansville U.S.A.," a new edition of "American Experience," doesn't try to document the entire history of the KKK. Instead it focuses on North Carolina and how "grand dragon" Bob Jones turned it into a hub of hatred. Oliver Platt provides the chilling narration. 8 p.m. TPT, Ch. 2

Angel eyes

"Discovering Lucy Angel" follows a fairly likable mother-daughter country music trio as they try to make it big in Nashville. The father/manager is a bit of a blowhard, but his heart appears to be in the right place. And the tunes? Not bad. We're rooting for this band. 8 p.m. AXS TV

Making it up

Minneapolis' Darla Edin took a big step forward when she ran the makeup department for "Solitude," a film that earned an official selection to the 2014 Twin Cities Film Festival. Now she's on the national stage as a contestant on "Face Off: Return of the Champions." Based on her performance in the first episode, she may have a shot at the grand prize. 8 p.m. Syfy
