The Minnesota Swarm announced Monday that the team has agreed to terms with No. 1 overall pick Logan Schuss on a two-year contract. Schuss, a lefthanded forward from Ohio State, became the first No. 1 overall pick in Swarm history this past September during the 2013 National Lacrosse League's entry draft.
Schuss, 22, started and played in every game during his four years at Ohio State and finished as the school's career leader in points (237) and goals (146). In his senior season as a co-captain this past spring, Schuss notched a career-high 44 goals along with 28 assists and helped the Buckeyes reach the NCAA quarterfinals.
"Getting Logan signed is key to our success," Swarm associate general manager and head coach Joe Sullivan said. "… He's going to shore up what we needed on the left side with some toughness and an ability to play an inside-outside game."
The Swarm also agreed to terms with fourth-round pick (No. 29 overall) Jordan Houtby on a one-year deal. The 6-3 righthanded defenseman played four years of college lacrosse at the University of Detroit Mercy.
