Arts briefs: LeDuc Historic Estate dressing up for Christmas

Christmas is coming to the LeDuc Historic Estate in Hastings.

The 1860s Gothic Revival mansion will be decorated with Victorian decor and be on display Dec. 1-2 and 8-9. Guided tours with vignettes of how the LeDucs prepared for the holidays will be offered at 10 and 11:30 a.m. and 1, 2:30 and 4 p.m. Cost is $3-$6 per person, and free for Dakota County Historical Society members.

From 4-7:30 p.m. Dec. 2, a four-course gourmet Victorian dinner, catered by the Onion Grille in Hastings, will be served at the estate. Guests will be treated to music and drama throughout the evening. Go to www.dakotahistory.org for menu selections.

Reservations are required; call 651-437-7055. The event fills quickly, so early reservations are advised. Cost is $50 per person for historical society members and $60 per person for non-members.

HASTINGS

Symphony performs Handel's 'Messiah'The Dakota Valley Symphony will present Handel's "Messiah" with the full orchestra in performances Dec. 2 at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.

A 2 p.m. performance will be a traditional presentation of the piece. A performance a 7 p.m. will involve the audience in a sing-along. Vocal scores will be available for purchase at the door.

Tickets are $5-$16 and may be purchased at the arts center box office at 12600 Nicollet Av. in Burnsville.
