NINE DRUNKEN MEN HAVE DROWNED IN THE MISSISSIPPI IN THE LA CROSSE, WIS., AREA SINCE 1997:

1. Charles Blatz, 28, of Kiel, Wis. Body found Oct 3, 1997. Blood alcohol level (BA): .31

2. Anthony Skifton, 19, of La Crosse. Body found Oct. 10, 1997. BA: .23

3. Nathan Kapfer, 20, of Glendive, Mont. Body found April 4, 1998. BA: .22

4. Jeffrey F. Geesey, 20, UW-La Crosse student. Body found May 22, 1999. BA: .42

5. Patrick Runingen, 23, of West Salem, Wis. Found March 8, 2001. BA: unknown

6. Jared Dion, 21, UW-La Crosse student. Body found April 15, 2004. BA: .27

7. Luke Homan, 21, UW-La Crosse basketball player, Found Oct. 2, 2006. BA: .32

8. Christopher Melancon, 24, of Bloomington, Minn. Died in October 2007. BA: .24

9. Craig Meyers, 21, Western Technical College student. Died Feb. 14, 2010. BA: .28
