County roads showing frost-heave problemsThe warm winter is bringing another unseasonal phenomena -- frost heaves in pavement in roads around Washington County. Ridges created by the freezing-and-thawing cycle could be especially dangerous, particularly to motorcyclists.

County road maintenance crews are aware of the bumpy road conditions, but repairs can't be made until the ground is free of frost, the county said.

Roads prone to ridges include County Road 21 (Stagecoach Trail North) and County Road 65 (Oakgreen Avenue). County crews have put up warning signs for motorists. Tell county public works officials about damage by e-mailing Transportation@co.washington.mn.us or calling 651-430-4300.
