Twin Cities artist Andrea Stanislav had planned to run her video horse, "Nightmare," up the Mississippi from St. Paul to Minneapolis as part of this summer's Northern Spark festival. Technical difficulties nixed that, but the ephemeral white horse is good to go this week the artist says.

The illusory horse, moving in slow motion, will appear on a large video screen pulled by a barge. At first, going downriver, it will be visible only from the Harriet Island side of the river as it runs past the Wabasha Bridge toward Lowertown St. Paul. Then it will turn around and head up river toward the High Bridge and Minneapolis. At that point, it should be visible from downtown St. Paul.

When: 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26. Best expected visibility is betweeen approximately 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. as it heads past Upper Landing Park (across Shepard Road from the Science Museum at Chestnut St.).
