The Ramsey County attorney's office will have a new home by next January.

The Ramsey County Board on Tuesday approved a 10-year lease at the former Lowry Hotel at Fourth and Wabasha streets in downtown St. Paul.

Members of the criminal, juvenile, prosecution, victim/witness and administrative divisions of the county attorney's office -- 137 full- and part-time employees -- will be moved to the first and second floors of the historic building, which is across the street from the Ramsey County Courthouse.

The move is expected to save approximately $930,000 over the course of the lease, the county attorney's office said in a release.

The county attorney's office is currently housed in the Government Center West building at 50 W. Kellogg Blvd., but is in the process of vacating that building. The office's civil and human services divisions, which have 241 full- and part-time employees, are moving to the Metro Square building this summer.
