• Most memorable moment as a high school athlete so far? Winning a meet-deciding relay last year. I swam the last leg and won for our team. The win resulted in us winning our conference in a three-way tie. • First memory of swimming:

Getting whipped into the water at Blizzard Beach in Disney World.

• What made you want to swim? I was kind of obligated to. Both my parents [swam] in college. Both of my older sisters [swim] too.

• Three things that you couldn't swim without? Water. Water. Water.

• Strangest thing experienced in the water? Being stung by jellyfish in the ocean in Cabo San Lucas.

• To get prepared for a race: Eating Quiznos I found helps.

• What would you change about swimming if you could? [Make] pools without chlorine, because I am allergic to it.

• Biggest sacrifice during the season? My social life and Saturday mornings.

• What team really motivates you? Mounds View, and they have been since I started on the high school team.

What aspect of practice makes you groan? Having to jump in the water for the first time of the day.

• Secret talent: I can make cool sounds with my hands.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
