Producer Bill Pohlad, of the well-known Twin Cities business family, will be at the Oct. 2 Twin Cities Film Festival screening of "Fair Game," which was produced by Pohlad and his River Road Entertainment. Sources say Pohlad will briefly introduce the film screening Saturday night in Minneapolis.

The movie, starring Naomi Watts and Sean Penn, relates the story of CIA agent Valerie Plame and her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson, and their fight with the Bush administration over a leak that revealed Plame's status as an undercover agent. The movie gets four stars from Star Tribune critic Colin Covert, who calls it "the most riveting Washington thriller since 'All the President's Men.'"

Saturday's screening is the local premier of "Fair Game," which will open nationally in early November. It will be shown at 7 p.m. at the AMC Block E15 theater, preceded by a red-carpet event.

Pohlad's film-distribution company, Apparition, faced a series of personnel and financial setbacks in the past year, but Pohlad continues to produce movies, and has announced he will return to directing.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
