The Gophers volleyball team won its fourth match in a row, defeating Duke in three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-19 to win the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C.

Minnesota (8-1) went 3-0 in the tournament. Minnesota's Jessica Granquist, Tabi Love and Ashley Wittman were named to the all-tournament team.

Wittman led the way on the night as she had 12 kills, 11 digs and two blocks. Love finished with 13 kills, five digs, two blocks and two service aces.

Etc.• The Timberwolves waived little-used center Greg Stiemsma. The Wolves signed the 24-year-old former Wisconsin Badger as a free agent in April, but he didn't appear in a game last season.
