Hurricane Earl will sideswipe the central Atlantic and Northeast coasts lateThursday and Friday, then it will move into Atlantic Canada Saturday. A directhit on the United States will not occur, but the center is likely to pass rightover Nova Scotia. Now, you usually don't think that a hurricane brings anything good, but thisone will. A big benefit of Earl will be the much cooler air mass that arrivesin its wake. The cooler air will become well established across the MidwestFriday and will completely erase any traces of heat in the Northeast thisweekend. Instead of upper 80s and 90s, the entire Northeast will finally get toenjoy some refreshing breezes with highs in the 60s and 70s.
By the way, with all the dry air coming in, Labor Day is going to turn outquite nice across a broad area from the Tennessee Valley to New England.
