Nuclear warheads, training grounds for counterterrorism efforts, office chairs and local governmental officials aren't obvious subjects for an artistic photographer. Paul Shambroom, however, sees art, and politics, in places most of us would never venture to see for ourselves.

A midcareer survey of his work, "Paul Shambroom: Picturing Power," is being shown at the Weisman, including five series: "Factories," "Offices," "Nuclear Weapons," "Meetings" and his latest, "Security." From men in yellow haz-mat suits against gray skies to glow-in-the-dark stars on a child's ceiling, Shambroom's work covers a range of his diverse subjects.

The exhibit is being paired with various events discussing art and democracy, politics and freedom of information.

Opening reception 8-11 p.m. Friday 02/08, $20-$40.
