With apologies to all northeast Minneapolis residents who aren't into Bloodnstuff or Tongue Party...

Art-a-Whirl is back this weekend, and it looks like a monstrous year. The weather forecasts are favorable, and the music lineups add up to the best weekend of local music in Minneapolis — most of it free and housed in a walkable corridor between NE. Broadway and Lowry Avenue NE.

Here's a rundown of the biggest to-dos.

Grumpy's Northeast: Really?! Yes, Babes in Toyland really are playing for free. Somebody must know and like somebody else. The reborn roar-rock trio is scheduled Saturday at 9 p.m., preceded by Romantica (7:15), Bay Area surf-twangers Shannon & the Clams (6:15), Gay Witch Abortion (4:45), Rich Mattson and the North Stars (3) and more. Click here for full info.

331 Club: The neighborhood's mainstay corner bar is newly teaming with the Sheridan Room for its outdoor bash with Communist Daughter, Bruise Violet and Murder Shoes on Friday (6-10 p.m.), Kill the Vultures, the Cloak Ox, Bones & Beeker, Felix of Heiruspecs, Rank Strangers and many more Saturday (1-10 p.m.; followed by Tongue Party indoors), then the Drug Budget, Koo Koo Kanga Roo, Pho and all-star bowers the Fiddle Heirs on Sunday (1-9 p.m.). Click here.

Indeed Brewing: First Ave staff helped curate Eleganza, Nato Coles and more Friday (6-10 p.m.) and a wowza Saturday schedule including the Black Eyed Snakes, Blind Shake, Bloodnstuff, Dosh and Birthday Suits (noon-10 p.m.), plus a rootsy Sunday with Charlie Parr, Matt Latterell and Dusty Hearts (1-6 p.m.). Click here.

Bauhaus Brew Labs: Another overflowing Saturday lineup headed by retro-soul kings Sonny Knight & the Lakers, plus the 4onthefloor, Jeremy Messersmith, Bad Bad Hats, Black Market Brass, Gospel Machine and more (reverse order, noon-10 p.m.). Click here.

612Brew: Where the hip-hop and R&B are at. Perennially underrated rap vet Haphduzn headlines Friday with Hustle Rose (5-10 p.m.). Then Greg Grease, Mac Irv, Nooky Jones, neo-soul great K. Raydio and more play Saturday (1-10 p.m.). Click here.

Anchor Fish & Chips: Hip-hop/soul innovator Sarah White headlines Saturday (8 p.m.), and the usual Kyle family brooders takeover is Sunday with Valet and Romantica (6 & 7 p.m.). Click here.

Also on Saturday: Dangerous Man Brewing will have Mike Mictlan, Tiny Deaths, the soon-to-end Frankie Teardrop and more (noon-10 p.m.). Solid Gold will hand off to Jake Rudh's Transmission at Psycho Suzi's (8 & 10 p.m.). And you can say you actually saw some art during Art-a-Whirl at the Elias Metal Studio, which also has music by the Twilight Hours, Silverteens, Chastity Brown, Flavor Crystals and more (noon-7 p.m.).

One more thing: Uber, Lyft and good ol' taxi service will be plentiful, and some of these venues are offering discounts. Use them.
