Police have arrested a man they believe is responsible for the slaying of another man whose body was found Sunday morning at a homeless camp in north Minneapolis.

The 43-year-old man, whose address is not listed, is being held in the Hennepin County jail. Police said the case has been referred to the Hennepin County attorney's office. Charges are expected today.

Brian Wayne Lumbar, 47, died of multiple blunt-force head injuries. His death was ruled a homicide, the city's 22nd of the year.

Officers found Lumbar's body lying in a pool of blood in the 600 block of Olson Memorial Highway, in a secluded area in a commercial district, about 7 a.m. after a 911 call. Police spokesman Sgt. William Palmer said the area is known as an encampment for the homeless, but Lumbar had an address in Franklin, Minn., in Renville County. Anyone with information about the case can call the homicide unit at 612-673-2941.
