Area small college football roundup: UMD rallies past St. Cloud State 48-34

Drew Bauer passed for 388 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 95 yards and two TDs to help Minnesota-Duluth rally for a 48-34 victory over St. Cloud State in an NSIC game on Saturday in St. Cloud.

The Huskies (5-6, 4-3 NSIC North) led 14-0 after the first quarter and 27-14 at halftime.

But Bauer ran for one TD and passed for one in the third quarter and then threw two TD passes in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs (10-1, 7-0), ranked No. 12 in the d2football.com poll, outscored the Huskies 34-7 in the second half.

The Bulldogs scored 21 unanswered points to open a 34-27 lead with 13:37 remaining.

The Huskies tied the score on a 65-yard TD run by Jaden Huff. Bauer's 2-yard TD pass to Tyler Lattery with 9:13 remaining broke the tie.

Nate Meyer passed for 175 yards and two TDs and Huff rushed for 107 yards and two TDs for the Huskies.

MSU Mankato 33, Upper Iowa 23: Nick Pieruccini passed for 318 yards and four TDs to lead the host Mavericks (8-3, 5-2 NSIC South) past the Peacocks.

Bemidji State 76, Minnesota-Crookston 13: The host Beavers (8-3, 5-2 NSIC North) rolled to 607 yards in total offense to run past the Golden Eagles (0-11, 0-7). Jordan Hein passed for 278 yards and four TDs for the Beavers.

MSU Moorhead 48, Northern State 33: Demetrius Carr threw five TD passes and passed for a school single-game record 507 yards to lead the host Dragons (7-4, 5-2 NSIC North) past the Wolves (6-5, 4-3). Damon Gibson had 14 receptions for 237 yards and two TDs and Hunter Braaten had 13 receptions for 154 yards and a TD and Zach Sweep ran for 154 yards and two TDs for the Dragons, who had 663 yards in total offense.

Augustana 35, SW Minnesota State 20: Trey Heid threw for four TDs and ran for another to lead the Vikings (8-3, 5-2 NSIC South) past the Mustangs (5-6, 2-5) in Marshall, Minn. Heid passed for 264 yards and ran for 63 yards.

Sioux Falls 30, Wayne State 7: Max Mickey ran for 132 yards and two TDs as the host Cougars (11-0, 7-0 NSIC), ranked No. 5, completed an unbeaten regular season.

Minnesota-Morris 38, Maranatha Baptist 13: Donnie Mavencamp passed for 229 yards and a TD and ran for two TDs to pace the Cougars to the nonference victory in Watertown, Wis.
