Another cold blast of air from northern and central Canada will affectnearly two-thirds of the nation Monday night into Wednesday. The latest blastalready sent temperatures below zero across North Dakota and northern MinnesotaMonday with single digits recorded in Kansas and Iowa.Overnight lows Monday night will tumble to as much as 29 below zero acrossNorth and South Dakota, and subzero temperatures will make their presence feltas far south as the Iowa and Missouri line.

The extent of the cold will expand on Tuesday to cover areas farther east intothe Upper Midwest and Great Lakes. Chicago will see the mercury struggle torise out of the single digits. Meanwhile, farther east into the Ohio Valley,Columbus, Ohio, will have highs remain in the upper teens.

Wednesday, the core of the cold will not move, while the western High Plainsbegin to recover. Thursday will feature cold conditions with below-normaltemperatures in the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes while temperatures recover inthe Plains.
