AP calls DFL gubernatorial primary for Dayton

A surge of late returning votes from northern Minnesota close the gap with Kelliher

The Associated Press declared Mark Dayton the winner of the closely fought DFL primary race shortly after midnight, and Dayton was expected to address reporters later this morning.

Unofficial reports have Dayton up by nearly 4,000 votes.
