The photo ID fight is now affixed on Minnesota's history.

Red stickers that include the web address for http://www.voterid.us, an anti-photo ID for voting site, were pasted onto the portraits of about half a dozen governors, the Capitol's marble columns and walls.

Given the historic nature of the objects and the need to protect them, officials said removing them may not be an easy process.

On Thursday, the stickers were seen on the Capitol's first and second floors.

Update:

Good news for lovers of Capitol history. By late afternoon, the stickers had been removed.
