Anthony Edwards gets another NBA Western Conference rookie of the month award

The first overall pick in the 2020 draft averaged 21.6 points as the Wolves went 8-8.

Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards was named NBA Western Conference rookie player of the month for April after also winning the award for March.

The Wolves were 8-8 in April as Edwards averaged 21.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.6 steals in playing 34.4 minutes per game.

Edwards ranks in the top 10 among rookies in multiple statistical categories on the season, including first in scoring (18.5), tied for fourth in steals (1.2) and eighth in assists (2.8). Edwards also is second in three-pointers made (147) and third in rebounds (301).

The first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft out of Georgia is the fifth youngest player (19 years, 252 days) to reach 1,000 career points, behind LeBron James (19y-041d), Kobe Bryant (19y-127d), Kevin Durant (19y-146d) and Devin Booker (19y-162d).
