Another Snowstorm on the Way

February 6, 2010 at 1:25PM

A storm bringing rain and mountain snow to California and the Desert Southwesttoday and tonight could become the next trouble-maker in the East by the middleof next week. Late this weekend, heavy snow will bury a swath from the TexasPanhandle to southern Kansas with as much as a foot of snow. Similaraccumulations could then bring travel to a standstill in cities including St.Louis, Indianapolis, Louisville and Cincinnati early next week as the stormpresses eastward.

By the middle of next week, the mid-Atlantic could once again fall prey toanother winter storm. Unlike the last few storms to hit the area, this one willtake a more northerly path, bringing significant accumulations to New Englandas well. Once the storm reaches the Northeast coast around Wednesday, it couldrapidly intensify into a nor'easter.
