Authorities are searching for a suspect or suspects in a fireworks explosion last weekend at the Anoka County Fairgrounds that injured multiple people.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office said that someone threw a large firework at a crowd around 11:30 p.m. on July 26 at the fairgrounds, burning several people who were treated by emergency responders.

The Sheriff’s Office for now is not releasing photos or video of the incident, but authorities said they were interested in speaking with a large group of juveniles who were near the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact detective Nate Arvidson at Nathan.Arvidson@anokacountymn.gov or 763-324-5218.
