Today's trophy tales

Dan Schwartz, Maple Grove • 50-inch muskie • Metropolitan area

After he had trolled for about 15 minutes on an undisclosed metropolitan-area lake, Schwartz's rod bent and he knew a big one was hooked. It was released after a measurement and pictures.

Cathy Lyon of Sandstone was fishing Saganaga Lake on the Minnesota/Canada border for lake trout two weeks ago when she caught this 40-inch-plus northern pike in 46 feet of water.

Rhoda Brooks of Excelsior, fishing with her son and grandson on a July afternoon, caught her first northern on Excelsior Bay. Fishing near the shallows off Commons Park, she used a Shad Rap.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
