Plymouth is honoring area veterans with a new memorial to be unveiled this month. Crews started engraving the names of local veterans last week and will continue adding names once a year. Up to 1,300 veterans' names will be engraved on the curved memorial wall, which is next to a fountain and walkways. A dedication event will be held at 7 p.m. June 29 at which the fountain will be lit, flags will be raised and the men and women who have served will be honored. The memorial is on the southwest corner of the Hilde Performance Center at 3500 Plymouth Blvd. To apply to add a veteran's name to the wall — they don't need to live in Plymouth to apply — go to plymouthmn.gov/vetsmemorial; a fee of $175 is also required.
