While a storm sweeps through the Midwest into the Northeast early this week andanother storm begins its journey along the southern tier of the nation, thestage will become set for arctic air to blast southward across the Plains.Following an unusually chilly weekend on the northern Plains, the core of thecold will take aim at the region on Tuesday. Highs in the 20s today and onMonday will be replaced by temperatures in the teens and even the single digitsfor some. After the initial plunge, temperatures will hover as much as 10 to 15degrees colder than normal in cities including Fargo, Omaha, Minneapolis andChicago by midweek.
