ARTnews magazine's current issue lists the world's top 200 art collectors, a list that includes just one Twin Cities name: Burnet. That would be Ralph and Peggy Burnet, of Wayzata, and of Burnet Realty.

Burnet is maybe best known locally for his out-there collection of YBAs, or Young British Artists, and for his art-happy Chambers, a boutique hotel that opened in 2006 in downtown Minneapolis.

On the ARTnews list, the Burnets rub shoulders with the likes of LA billionaire Eli Broad, Seattle computer billionaire Paul Allen and London artist Damien Hirst, whose work Burnet has collected (see photo).
