Monday is D-Day for "American Idol" judges, a new report says.

The replacement for always-opinionated judge Simon Cowell, and possibly "a clean sweep" of the judging panel, will be announced Monday at the TV Critics Association press tour, according to a report by Yahoo's OMG!

According to the report:

"... the announcement could be much bigger than who will sit in Cowell's chair. Ellen DeGeneres, who was uncomfortable criticizing contestants, is not a certainty to return. Nor is original judge Randy Jackson. That points to a possible clean sweep of the judges panel, as Kara DioGuardi reportedly does not have a deal for next season. Nigel Lythgoe, who is expected to return as Idol's executive producer, was quoted several months ago as saying he'd like to put an entirely new panel on television's top-rated show. He apparently still feels that way." (Read the entire posting at omg.yahoo.com/news/the-biz-big-american-idol-news-coming-monday/44755.)

Seriously, no Randy? Not even Kara? It's hard to imagine "Idol" would opt for complete annihilation.

Then again viewership has dropped off significantly in the past season. Even the finale, with Cowell's departure, had a drop in 5 million viewers over 2009, the Nielson Co. reported.

Who would you like to see at the judges' table?
