THURSDAY-SATURDAY

'All Is Calm: the Christmas Truce of 1914'

This lovely musical essay on the Christmas Truce of 1914 returns for another season, courtesy of Theater Latté Da and the vocal group Cantus. Latté Da artistic director Peter Rothstein built the show around diaries, letters and historical documents that tell of the Christmas Day when Allied and German soldiers climbed from their trenches and shared the holiday. The show evokes the mysterious beauty of the season and the traditions that caused soldiers to commune with enemies during the first year of World War I. (11 a.m. & 7:30 p.m. Thu.; 7:30 p.m. Fri.; 2 & 7:30 p.m. Sat. $28-$35.50. Pantages Theatre, 710 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. 1-800-982-2787 or www.hennepintheatretrust.org.)GRAYDON ROYCE

FRIDAY

Kevin Hart

From a hardscrabble upbringing in North Philadelphia, Hart has gone on to become one of comedy's top-grossing acts. The 32-year-old actor/comedian broke out with 2004's "Soul Plane," but he's at his best in front of a mic. Hart -- who's on his "Let Me Explain" arena tour -- is an emotionally candid and charismatic standup who produces new specials at a Louis C.K.-like clip. His 2012 blockbuster smash "Think Like a Man" didn't win favor with critics (it's based off a Steve Harvey self-help book, after all), but most went out of their way to commend Hart's performance. (8 p.m. Fri. $39-$125. Target Center, 600 1st Av. N., Mpls. 612-673-0900 or www.targetcenter.com.)JAY BOLLER
