Alexander McCall Smith appearance canceled

Scottish writer can't get here because of volcanic ash

The Icelandic volcano has claimed another victim: Next week's Living Legends appearance by Scottish writer Alexander McCall Smith. The author of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series has canceled his visit to the Twin Cities and shall, instead, remain stuck in Scotland.

McCall Smith had been scheduled to speak Monday at the State Theatre. His visit will not be rescheduled. For ticket refunds of tickets purchased, call 1-800-982-2787 or visit www.ticketmaster.com.

For refunds of tickets purchased through the State Theatre Box Office, call 612-339-7007 or visit the box office, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
