Alabama governor apologizes for faith remarks about Christians

Religious and other leaders are wondering if new Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley will be a governor for everyone, not just Christians.

On Wednesday, Bentley apologized for his inauguration day remarks about only Christians being his brothers and sisters. He said he didn't mean to insult anyone with the comments made Monday from the pulpit of a church once led by Martin Luther King Jr.

Bentley, who is a Southern Baptist, was attending Dexter Avenue King Memorial Church in Montgomery when he said:

Since the controversial remarks, which have been roundly criticized by religious and other groups, Bentley has met with several members of Alabama's Jewish community and other faith leaders. He's promised that he would serve everyone while in office.
