"I think a lot of people look at our division as being weak. But I think it's because the teams beat up on each other so much there's a little more parity." -- White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko

"The second half is going to be fun ... when you play the same team over and over again. You know the ins and outs of them, so it comes down to execution. The White Sox and Twins kind of have our number and we kind of have the Tigers' and Royals' numbers. Hopefully we'll have all their numbers." -- Indians reliever Chris Perez

"[Twins manager Ron Gardenhire] has been able throughout the years to take whatever's been thrown at him and get the best out of those guys. They are doing it right now." -- Indians manager Manny Acta

"I think we have the best team, but we need to do some things right. Other teams are showing that they are not going to go away. Were going to have to do the right things to win it and not hope that everybody else lets us win it." -- Tigers righthander Justin Verlander
