Seattle • No. 22

In his first year of a 10-year, $240 million contract with the Mariners, the 31-year-old former Yankees star and two-time Gold Glove winner was voted a starter for the fifth consecutive season.

In his 20th and final major league season, Jeter, 40, was voted a starter for the ninth time and picked as an All-Star for the 14th time. He leads active players and is ninth on the all-time hits list with 3,405.

Donaldson

Oakland • No. 20

Donaldson is in his third season as a third baseman after being drafted by the Cubs in 2007 out of Auburn as a catcher. The 28-year-old, who was traded to the A's in 2008, also will compete in the Home Run Derby.

The 33-year-old from the Dominican Republic earned his fifth consecutive All-Star selection with the most votes in either league. Bautista, a 20th-round draft pick in 2000 who bounced around with five teams before landing in Toronto in 2007, leads the AL in on-base percentage.

Trout

Los Angeles • No. 27

Trout was second in fan voting and received the most votes (in either league) on the players' ballots. Trout, who made his debut in 2011 at 19, will make his third All-Star appearance.

Baltimore • No. 10

The 28-year-old Jones, who made his major league debut in 2006, is making his second consecutive start and fourth All-Star appearance. Jones is a three-time Gold Glove winner.

Perez

Kansas City • No. 13

The 24-year-old from Venezuela, in his fourth season, is starting for Baltimore's Matt Wieters, who is out for the season. Already the Royals' all-time leader in pickoffs (14), Perez has thrown out 13 base-stealers this season.

Cruz

Cruz, 34, is a three-time All-Star and was voted a starter for the first time. Cruz, who served a 50-game suspension last year with Texas for his ties to the Biogenesis scandal, leads the majors in home runs and RBI.
