Adrian Peterson will start today against the Colts after the running back was given the final green light to play following pregame warmups.

It is unknown how much Peterson will play today in his first game since undergoing surgery in late September to repair a torn right meniscus. But one suspects that at the very least he will split the carries and handle the goal-line work, which was a big issue in the win at Jacksonville.

Fellow running backs Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata are also active.

Joe Berger is back in the lineup today after missing the past two games with a concussion. With Brandon Fusco inactive, Berger will slide over to right guard and second-year lineman Nick Easton will remain at center.

Cornerback Marcus Sherels is also playing after missing the past three games. The Vikings struggled with punt returns with him out of the lineup.

Safety Harrison Smith, cornerback Trae Waynes and wide receiver Laquon Treadwell were officially ruled out Friday, along with Fusco. The Vikings have also scratched third-string quarterback Taylor Heinicke, defensive end Stephen Weatherly and rookie offensive lineman Willie Beavers.

Second-year safety Anthony Harris will get another start in place of Smith.

The Colts will be without starting wide receiver Donte Moncrief, starting right tackle Joe Reitz and big-money defensive tackle Arthur Jones.
