• Vikings RB Adrian Peterson, 29, was suspended until at least April 15 by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
• Peterson's appeal of that suspension was denied Friday by hearing officer Harold Henderson, a former NFL executive.
• The NFL Players Association said it was "considering immediate legal remedies."
• Peterson's suspension will cover six games. He was paid for 12 games this season, including 10 while on the Commissioner's Exempt List, but played only in the season opener.
• The six-game suspension will cost Peterson $4.1 million from his $11.75 million salary.
• Peterson's contract runs through 2017. The $36 million in guaranteed money has already been paid, and his salary next season is $12.75 million. The team could rework the contract to save money, or cut him with no financial obligation.
• Peterson's suspension came after he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of reckless assault. He had been indicted by a grand jury in September on a felony charge of injuring his 4-year-old son.
• The 2012 NFL MVP rushed for 10,190 yards in 104 games with the Vikings.
