Actor Emilio Estevez will visit the downtown Minneapolis library on Sunday to screen and discuss his new movie "The Public," in which a public library becomes a haven for the homeless during a fierce winter storm.
The event, to be held at 2 p.m. at the Minneapolis Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall, is free and open to the public, with seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The movie will open in Twin Cities theaters on April 5.
Estevez will attend the screening and participate in an audience Q&A session after the movie.
The actor, who appeared in "Mighty Ducks" and "Breakfast Club," directed and starred in the movie, which is about downtown Cincinnati librarians who have their "winter day shaken up when homeless patrons decide to take shelter in their library for the night," the movie synopsis says.
The film, which is being prescreened at libraries across the United States, will be distributed by Greenwich Entertainment and NBCUniversal.
