Access Vikings morning walkthrough: Zimmer hire has paid off, Greenway wants to play in 2016 and more

WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED

— The decision to hire Mike Zimmer two years ago has paid off as the Vikings prepare for a clash with Mike McCarthy and the Packers.

— Veteran outside linebacker Chad Greenway is savoring another shot at the Packers, though Greenway hopes to play for the Vikings in 2016.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

Just how inefficient has the Packers passing game been? Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is 31st in the NFL with an average of 6.69 yards per pass attempt, well below his career average of 8.02. That is lower than Johnny Manziel, Sam Bradford and Blaine Freaking Gabbert. Bridgewater, meanwhile, has been much more efficient, ranking 15th in the league with an average of 7.32 yards per attempt. That's not to say that Bridgewater is better than Rodgers. But it does reinforce that the Packers passing game has been a mess.
