WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED

— QB Matt Cassel won't be looking over his shoulder this year.

— Former Vikings QB Shaun Hill will start for the Rams on Sunday.

— SS Robert Blanton and MLB Jasper Brinkley will start against the Rams.

— OG Brandon Fusco came from a small college but is in his third season as a starter.

TODAY'S VIKINGS SCHEDULE

The Vikings will wrap up their walkthrough around 11:15 a.m. and the coordinators will the podium right after. Practice is schedule to begin at 12:50 p.m.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

It's all gold and white at the safety positions. With Robert Blanton named as the starting strong safety for the season opener against the Rams, he'll be alongside of a familiar Notre Dame face, Harrison Smith. They're both entering their third season in the NFL after spending an additional four seasons together in South Bend.
