About 1,000 people braved icy Lake Minnetonka on Thursday, jumping (or cautiously creeping) into the new year for the annual ALARC Ice Dive benefit.
Those waiting their turn in Excelsior also chose various sartorial approaches to staying warm, including costumes.
The event, in its 25th year, raised money for the Ride2Recovery, according to the event's Facebook page. The program has a mission "to improve the health and wellness of healing heroes worldwide."
