A belated welcome home to Matt and Jen Augustson and their two young daughters, whose Edina house was destroyed in a much-publicized explosion a year ago Wednesday. After living in transition -- and dealing with planning commissioners, contractors, inspectors and insurance issues, not to mention the vet for their singed dog -- they moved late last month into the new home built new on the same spot near 50th and France.

Jen Augustson kept friends apprised of the ups and downs for much of the year on her own blog. In an email, Augustson said her daughters have already managed to "make their mark" on the new house. One became sick and threw up on the bathroom floor on their second night there. The other stained a bathroom counter with "one of her pink trinkets."

"Oh well," she said. "Makes it feel more like home."
