A windy city

The winds have been gusting in Green Bay the past two days but are supposed to die down before Sunday's game

APPLETON, WIS. -- Have made the move from Green Bay to Appleton, Wis., the city in which the Vikings stay, and I can tell you the wind is blowing big time in these parts. It's never a good thing when the wind nearly causes your rental car to veer off Hwy. 41.

Officially, I just looked at a report that said the winds are blowing at 23 miles per hour from the west in Green Bay. Today, that's not a big deal. On Sunday, however, that would stand to have an impact on the Vikings-Packers game. But looking at the forecast, it appears the winds are supposed to die down and the temperatures are going to range from 47 to 38 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

It will definitely end up being on the cooler side in the second half on Sunday given that this game will now kickoff at 3:15 p.m.

The Vikings are due to arrive at their hotel here later this afternoon and I'm planning to venture outside to see how many folks show up and welcome (or not welcome) the team and Brett Favre to town. Chip or I will file an update on the blog.
