The Broadway run of "Bonnie & Clyde," the Frank Wildhorn musical that opened Dec. 1, is to close Dec. 30, producers announced Friday.

The abbreviated run is not because of performances by its stars. Eagan High School graduate Laura Osnes, who plays Bonnie, and co-star Jeremy Jordan have been praised by critics of the show.

Children's Theatre alum Osnes was hailed for making the show's "dime store poetry sound like a million bucks," according to the New York Post , which savaged the show. The Associated Press called Osnes "a stone-cold fox cradling a shotgun" while the New York Daily News hailed her as "criminally talented."Wildhorn has been behind some recent clunkers on Broadway. Earlier this year, his "Wonderland" ran for only a month.
