My editor, who eats at Red Lobster more often than I do, said that dining deals are rare at the seafood restaurant chain. I didn't confirm that, but the special going on now through Feb. 21 is a good one.

It's a three-course meal for two for $30 (two salads, two entrees and one appetizer or dessert to share). The entree choices include wood-grilled shrimp, garlic alfredo shrimp and scallop pasta, and peach bourbon BBQ chicken and shrimp.

Salads can be fresh garden or Caesar. Desserts include Chocolare Wave, Warm Apple Crumble a la mode or Key Lime Pie.

Seating is first-come first-served, so be prepared for a wait in the bar, but at least the special is also good Valenine's weekend. It's rare to find a good deal close to or on Valentine's Day.

FYI, Lobster Fest fans, your event starts Feb. 22.
