A magic pan in Uptown Now that he's tackled downtown Minneapolis, La Belle Crêpe (825 Nicollet Mall, labellecrepe.com) owner Alain Lenne is taking on Uptown, serving his crêpes and galettes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily at Aura (3001 Hennepin Av. S.).

Around town Changes in Wayzata: What had been Patrick's Bistro is now Volnay Bistro Bar (331 Broadway Av. S., Wayzata). Chef Anthony Herve is preparing a similar but expanded menu of French classics (beef bourguignon, duck a l'orange, scallops St. Jacques), and the pastry counter continues to feature sweets from former owners Patrick and Azita Bernet.

Sunday brunch is now being served at Cafe Levain (4762 Chicago Av. S., Minneapolis, cafelevain.com).

There's a new chef in the kitchen at the Nicollet Island Inn (95 Merriam St., Minneapolis, nicolletislandinn.com). He's Adam Droski, formerly of the River Room (411 Cedar St., St. Paul, macys.com). Alex Weidt, formerly of Harry's Food & Cocktails (500 Washington Av. S., Minneapolis, harrysfood.com) is now running the show at Laredo's Tex-West Grill & Cantina (4656 Excelsior Blvd., St. Louis Park, laredostexwest.com).

Changes in the air at Via Cafe & Bar (6740 France Av. S., Edina). Hemisphere Restaurant Partners have scratched the Via name: it's now Tavern on France Restaurant & Bar. Look for a new menu and a new look, debuting mid-May.

Deal of the week Weekdays at the Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant (1010 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, dakotacooks.com), chef Jack Riebel prepares an all-American lunch special: Monday means meatloaf, Tuesdays are all about tacos, etc. The price: $10.10.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
