With so many benefit concerts going on around town nowadays, tonight's Red Hot Party at the Varsity Theater has sort of fallen through the cracks: It's a fundraiser for Children's HeartLink featuring dancey neo-soul rockers Aaron & the Sea, little big woman Mayda (in Kii Arens-shot photo below; she's also a part of Aaron & the Sea's live lineup, btw), plus My Lady Four and the Thank You Notes. The money goes toward sending doctors and nurses to under-served areas of the world to perform surgery on children born with congenital heart disease. The party lasts from 7-11 p.m. Tickets are $35 advance or $45 at the door (which include two free drinks and appetizers!).
