THE Traveler: Pam Skaar Meier of Chaska.
The scene: A picnicker regards a glacial lake filled with emerald waters in Norway.
the trip: Meier was traveling with a Norwegian cousin to celebrate their birthdays. The two had sailed the country's coast with Norwegian cruise operator Hurtigruten and were winding their way back to Oslo. "We were driving through the mountains from Alesund to my Norwegian cousin's cabin in Hedalen. The glacial lakes were just stunning as we were driving through the mountains," the photographer wrote in an e-mail, adding, "There was another group having a picnic at an area next to the lake and this was just one of the many pictures I took during our quick stop."
destination: "Norway has thousands of acres of national parks and recreational areas inland from the fjords. Take the road less traveled and nature will never let you down," Meier wrote.
equipment: This photo was snapped with an iPhone 6.
