A familiar name arises in David Letterman case

Long-time fans of "The Late Show" know the face of Stephanie Birkitt. We may soon know a lot more about her.

Long-time fans of "The Late Show" know that David Letterman has always adored Stephanie Birkitt, the deadpan assistant who often participated in skits. At one point, it became routine for Letterman to grill her about her weekend and her dates (she used to do a dance imitiating her ex-boyfriend that killed). Now it turns out that Birkitt is the one who was dating Joe Halderman and rumors are flying that she had an affair with Letterman previous to that.

I don't know about you, but I'm holding judgment on this one. I've got to believe there's more to this story than meets the eye...
